After graduating from college, Ben moved west and decided to settle in the culinary hotspot of San Francisco, California. Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio was Ben’s first exposure to California cuisine and the bounty of the Bay Area. From there, Ben worked with Traci des Jardins at Jardinière, where he cultivated a deep understanding of seasonality and developed relationships with artisanal purveyors of sustainable products. At Masa’s, Ben perfected his technical skills with French Laundry trained chef, Gregory Short, and had a natural eye for creating beautifully plated food. As Executive Chef of Spruce, Ben led the restaurant to their first Michelin Star, in addition to accolades from Wine Spectator, The San Francisco Chronicle and Esquire. After more than a decade, Ben left the Bay Area in 2011 to move to Santa Monica, California to assume the Executive Chef position at Westside Tavern in West Los Angeles.

At Westside Tavern, Chef Ben has cultivated a community restaurant, focused on seasonal and sustainable American cuisine.

Please plan your visit ahead & make reservations for up to 6 guests which is the current limit of guests per table

You and your guests will be seated when the entire party is complete

Children must remain with their party/adult/parent at all times

 Please check in for your reservation via the Pico Entrance as indoor seating is currently closed

Cash is discouraged unless you do not require change

Masks are required for all dining guests on entry unless you are eating or drinking at your table

Sanitizer stations are available and required upon entering

We are currently limited to outdoor dining only

Consider previewing our menu so you may order upon being seated.  We will provide disposable single use menus as needed

Our goal is for you to enjoy your dining experience, however we do ask that you are aware of the time you spend with us so we can limit the exposure for both our guests and staff, please limit dining to less than 1.5 hours whenever possible.

Please observe social distancing at all times while dining with us including outdoors

Restrooms are available for use within the restaurant

We have marked our space with 6 foot distancing reminders and tables that will not be utilized with our reduced capacity

Workplace specific plan has been developed, posted and communicated to all staff following the guidelines outlined by the CDC, LA County Department of Health and OSHA & is posted onsite for the public

Daily wellness checks are conducted for all staff on arrival daily

Social Distancing strictly enforced for our dining rooms and workspaces

Gloves, masks, face shields & all PPE is available to staff as required

HVAC systems have been serviced increasing fresh air flow and ensuring proper installation of required filters to provide for optimal air quality

Frequent hand washing & sanitizing is required of all staff

Sanitizer is available to guests on entrance & throughout the restaurant for staff during service

Cleaning and sanitizing of high touch point surfaces is conducted every 30 mins or more as needed

Cleaning/sanitizing of the entire space by a professional cleaning service is conducted nightly

We will continue to offer Contactless curbside pickup and delivery, providing tamper evident seals on all packaging. Guests are encouraged to utilize online ordering via our website so our staff can limit phone usage, if you are unable to place your order online you may call us, 310.470.1539 & we’d be happy to take your order!

Westside Tavern’s two stunning private dining rooms incorporate modern and rustic elements, creating the perfect backdrop for both personal occasions and business events. The two rooms can be separated or combined to comfortably accommodate events between 10 and 80 seated guests.

The Westwood Room can accommodate seated dinners of up to 64 guests or standing receptions of up to 100 and offers a private full service bar.

The Cedar Room can accommodate seated dinners of up to 26 guests or standing receptions of up to 40.

The rooms can be combined for 80 guests seated or 150 guests standing.
